The Chicago Tribune has initiated a great project, “Your Government in Secret,” which provides a helpful guide to navigating the often-confusing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) process. Check it out, and use it!
If this state was transparent at all levels of government, there would be much less confusion and bureaucracy to wade through – because all public information would be easily accessible online (and free) – but for now, take advantage of this useful guide on the workings of FOIA.
