Liberty Leader posts sample village code online
Liberty Leader Valerie Martin of Midlothian has led by example by posting a sample of the entire village’s municipal code online.
Here’s what Valerie writes about her project:
At this time, the Village Code for Midlothian, Illinois is entirely absent from the Internet. It has always been my belief that the law cannot be copyrighted, nor can it be restricted in its dissemination of the set of instructions it is intended to represent. It is especially important for any body of citizenship to be familiar with the rules and regulations that guide the mental accounting of those responsible for the management of Official Village Affairs as well as administering authority over a variety of activities that may or may not ever transpire within any town’s boundaries.
