Morton HS District 201 Adds Online Check Register
The Morton High School District 201 Board of Education voted on Wednesday to make an online check register and open up its books. Liberty Leader Dan Proft helped the Board realize the need to have transparency within the school district. The Morton High School District 201 information will be available at http://www.jsmortonhs.com/.
Board President Jeffry Pesek acknowledge the need for transparency saying, “As stewards of public dollars, we have a deep respect for our duty to spend these funds wisely. This new online feature will provide residents the ability to ‘follow the money’. Taxpayers will be able to see how and where their money is being spent.” Also, the District will be posting contracts over $25,000.
Kudos to Dan Proft, Jeffry Pesek, and the Morton High School District 201 Board of Education for celebrating Morton’s 100th anniversary with the passage of an online check register and creating more transparency. Morton High School District 201 will be placed on OpenIllinois.com’s “Who’s Posting?” site along with other schools and governments who understand the need for transparency.
