Nepotism alert in Champaign County
Perhaps if Champaign County were transparent… this could have been stopped before it started.
Basically…
ChampaignCounty Auditor Tony Fabri said he’s blocking payment to B & R Contracting of Villa Grove for some work on the remodeling project.
Fabri said the company was given a no-bid contract by the head of the county’s physical plant, Alan Reinhart. A review by the auditor found B & R is co-owned by Reinhart’s son, Eric Reinhart.
At least someone caught it…although $5,000 worth of work has already been done for the county. I wonder how many more of these no-bid contracts are given out throughout the state.
I think we, the taxpayers, should be getting the biggest bang for our buck.
