School Districts – Who Is Not Compliant with the New Code?

Beginning in October, the Illinois Policy Institute called every school district in Illinois to see whether they were in compliance with a new school code put in place in September, requiring districts to “post on its Internet site a compensation report for every employee who holds an administrative certificate and who works in that capacity,” including details like “base salary, bonuses, pension contributions, the cost of health insurance and any other form of compensation.” The deadline for posting this material was October 1, 2009.

Although many school districts are in compliance, the ability to easily find this information on district websites was not always easy. Compliant school districts would serve their communities well by making this information as accessible and clearly labeled as possible.

Check out what we found. Is your district in compliance? Note that our work took place over the course two months, so if your district is listed on “not complying” but now is in compliance, please get in touch with us and let us know about any updates!
