Tinsmith Paid $87K Salary
The Illinois Department of Human services paid one tinsmith $87,045 in fiscal year 2008. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website, the average wage for a tinsmith in the Illinois private sector is $59,670, 31% lower than the State’s wage. Interestingly, private tinsmiths in Illinois have the 3rd highest wage in the nation, after Nevada and Alaska.
