Partners

The Illinois Policy Institute works with many partners to advance government transparency in Illinois. Below is a list of the growing list of organizations with which we are working to make Illinois government more accountable and transparent to the taxpayers.

FortheGoodofIllinois.org

Liberty Leader Adam Andrzejewski-the executive director of FortheGoodofIllinois.org-has led the way in bringing greater transparency to school districts throughout Illinois. Over the last few months, Adam has approached school boards and asked them to post their check registers online—a simple practice that provides citizens with clear, user-friendly access to schools’ spending decisions, which the public funds by paying taxes. You can read more about his efforts here.

Americans for Prosperity, Illinois Chapter

AFP IL has led the way for HB 4765, the bill that would create the Illinois Accountability Portal. The website would list all state expenditures online so that citizens can keep track of how much the state government spends and where.

National Taxpayers Union

The National Taxpayers Union stands for taxpayers’ rights across the country. They are a founding member of the Show Me The Spending coalition to which the Institute belongs and provide invaluable assistance to interested taxpayers and their advocates.

Americans for Tax Reform

Also a founding member of the Show Me The Spending coalition, ATR has been a friend to the Institute and its efforts for a long time. ATR has its own transparency and accountability website: The Center for Fiscal Accountability.

Sam Adams Alliance

The Sam Adams Alliance runs a collaborative, wiki-based website called Sunshine Review, which allows visitors to learn how transparent their government is, as well as add information to the site. Additionally, they run the Sunshine Review Blog.

  1. Are you folks aware of any website that provides salary, pension and benefit information on former/past Illinois legislators going back 10-15 years? I’ve scoured the web and had no success. Thanks!
